Love and Light

I want to start by saying my heart is broken for all the families in Newtown Connecticut. I can only imagine the pain and loss they are experiencing. I send you love and light from my heart to yours! I know that these words aren't really enough. I am at a loss.
Many of you know I am a mom to three amazing boys. Two of them are in elementary school and one is the same age as those little ones lost. I look at my sons and think this is not supposed to happen. Every time I hear about senseless loss of life my heart aches. I hope that this tragedy will bring change.
Tomorrow I send my boys off for their last week of school before vacation. I do not want to send them, but I know that isn't going to change what has happened.

Picking a winner for my giveaway seems silly to me right now. So give me a few more days I just can't pull out the Santa hat at this time.

I found it...the root of the problem

My son found this odd little root. It has been hanging out for a while. I thought it needed a little head. I think he feels much better now!
And now on to these fellows. I guess they are a little odd too! I keep making them trying to use up all the chenille I have. I think the little skunk is my favorite. All off these guys are in my Etsy shop if you'd like a closer peek. Wishing you all a great week!

More Chenille Feather Tree Ornaments

Hi friends! I just wanted to share a few little chenille ornaments I whipped up. I like the Sourpuss Grinch the best. You know the type they want to ruin the holidays. Always stirring up trouble stealing all the fun. This one got a hold of the tree. Naughty Sourpuss!
For those of you wondering I am not sure about the fate of my blog. I have had some issue here in blogland. If you are like me and you have a blog you want followers and friends to visit you. I think of my blog as my website. I enjoy posting my newest creations and a blogging in general. For now I will continue here. When I know more I will share with you. Krampus the Christmas Devil

Yes folks it is approaching that time of year again. December 6th is known as Krampus Day/night. When St. Nick has a horrible side kick Krampus. This magical Christmas Devil does not give out treats or gifts. He carries branches to spank the bad. Not only children but adults also. If you are really bad he will carry you off and throw you in the pit of Hell. Such offenders like abusers, back stabbers, cheaters, liars will be roasted in Hell. I'm sure we all know people who need a good whack or perhaps a worse fate. I know I do!
My newest Krampus is pictured above and I just finished him. He is vintage inspired and if you'd like a closer look he's in my etsy shop. He's larger than the one I made last year. Wishing you all a great week and don't be naughty!

Yeti Love and other odd folks

Hi Friends! I just wanted to share these little chenille Yeti's and Bigfoot with you. I had a request to make a few and then I got carried away and now I have a tribe. Which is fine because I like them I always have liked odd things. Speaking of odd I also made a little Magic Mushroom. I'm glad I found a way to use up all the chenille pipe cleaners.

Winter Wonderland Forest

Hi friends! Thank you to everyone for the well wishes for my foot! It is on the mend and that is a good thing. I'm hobbling around and happy about that.
I just wanted to share the rest of the Winter Tree's I've finished up. They are all a little odd but I think the Holidays shouldn't be taken so seriously!  I've got about 19 little chenille bodies that need heads. For those of you that asked me to make some little Yeti's I'm working on those now.
Happy Weekend!

Some Tinsel Tree Ornaments

I had a lot of left over chenille and tinsel pipecleaners. I used to use them in my clothespin and other ornaments. So I whipped up these little fellows. Their heads are paper clay. I like the Bigfoot the best. I have yet to make some Yeti's. My foot is taking longer than I thought to heal. I can't get it into shoes so yep I am a leave the house in slippers person!

I've Fallen and I can't get up...and snowmen

Hi Friends! For those of you that were hit by Sandy my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. The news is so horrible. I hope the recovery effort is swift! It is so heartbreaking.
On another note I took a large tumble this week and I'm using my son's old crutch to hobble about. Which is not fun I can't drive. I am still sore and it's been a couple of days. I really do not have time for this at all. It also makes one think who in my life I can really count on. I have to say not many. Which is sad but that is reality.
So I have been making snowmen and working. I am not the creative type that sits. I have to get up a lot which is hard. I feel trapped. I should make some caged snowmen! Ok on the bright side I still have my sense of humor! I hope you are all well and had a wonderful Halloween!

The Guts of it all

Aren't they just lovely! I love everything about carving pumpkins including the guts! This year I helped my boys carve two. My oldest he carved his own. We roast some seeds and save some for planting next year. I used to hide poems and pumpkin seeds in my folk art. I should again I haven't in a while! Now I'm off to do some roasting. Wishing you all a spooky Sunday! And to those of you in the perfect storm be safe friends!

Hi Halloween friends! Are you all ready for Halloween?  I just wanted to share these wonderful vintage Halloween honeycombs with you. You know what ... starting Christmas designs is scary

I just finished this snowball fighting Winter Sycamore Tree! I know it's not Halloween yet but I need to start think about snow and elves at this time. I thought I'd share him with you all. If you'd like a closer look he's in my etsy shop. Happy Monday!

A Bumper Crop

Type: Howden's Field
Types: Blue Australian/Jarrahdale and Butternut
Type: Scallop/Patty Pans
Types: Orange Mammoth and White Lumina
We had a wonderful time at the Pumpkin Farm! Each of my sons picked their own pumpkin. Although Michigan had a bad drought this year one crop loved it! We asked the farmer and he said they watered directly from their river and it shows! After we got our pumpkins we went to our favorite family run Cider and Donut place. They didn't have  a lot of apples or cider this year. It was not a good year for apples. It was a fine year for yummy donuts though. I guess it's always a good year for those!
